NAB tells IHC Zardari is involved in five inquiries
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted on Tuesday its report on money laundering through fake accounts case to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
In its report presented to the IHC by NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, NAB informed the bench that there are a total of 26 ongoing inquiries and investigations into the case. The report states that NAB has started the inquiries on the orders of the Supreme Court.
The report further stated that former president Asif Ali Zardari is involved in five NAB inquiries and three investigations. The bureau in its report wrote that arrest warrants against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson have only been issued in one case, local media reported.
The bureau has submitted its report after the PPP leader had requested the court to summon the details of all the ongoing cases and inquiries against him.
