Helping underprivileged, deprived segment of society true spirit of Ramazan: NA Speaker

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Monday said that Ramadan was a month of blessings in which the Muslims across the globe would seek benevolence of Almighty through fasting and praying.  He said that the Holy month warranted to be observed by generously helping those who were less privileged and deprived of basic needs.

He expressed these views in his greeting message on the advent of Holy month of Ramadan being observed by the Muslims around the World. Highlighting the divine blessings bestowed upon Muslims in this Holy month, the Speaker said that this sacred occasion provided Muslims a prospect to seek forgiveness for their sins and benevolence of Almighty Allah.

He said that Ramadan enjoined upon the Muslims to show munificence to fellow beings by helping those who were needy and less fortunate. He said that Allah Almighty was magnanimous and opened up countless doors of his blessings for those who generously assist disadvantaged brethren to alleviate their miseries.

“Fasting in Ramadan guides us to feel for those who are victims of misfortune by developing a sense of sacrifice and charity in the society”, he added. Speaker National Assembly said, “Ramadan teaches us to follow the path of goodness and moderation.”

He said that Muslims rejected the extremists and bigots who behind the facade of religion spread terrorism and militancy. He said that such mindset had brought a bad name to a peaceful religion. He said that Muslims needed to unite against these wicked forces who seek to fulfill their vested and political interests through nefarious and devilish plots in the name of Islam.

“May this Ramadan bring the joys of peace and happiness all over the World. I pray that this Holy month put an end to sedition, sectarianism and unrest among the Muslim Ummah and lay the ground for harmony and tranquility in the world,” he said.
