Governor hails contribution of the industrial and agricultural workers

KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail paying glowing tributes to the industrial and agriculture labourers of the country along with workers associated with other sectors here on Wednesday said their contribution to the national economy can never be ignored.

In his message to mark World Labour Day 2019, he said the PTI government in recognition of the importance of the workers has adopted a "labour friendly" approach to streamline job delivered by the workers in the formal sector.

Equal attention, he said was being paid towards home based workers as well those related to other segments of informal sector with particular focus on women and previously excluded sections.

"The Ehsas program announced only recently by the Prime Minister Imran Khan is well reflective of PTI government's commitment towards the low income segments," said the Sindh Governor referring to Ehsas Labour project revealed by the PM only the other day.

He said the pragmatic approach adopted by the government has led to improve investment opportunities in the country and that is and will further benefit the workers due to improved and attractive employment opportunities for the latter.
