The former president Asif Ali Zardari vowed on Tuesday that Pakistan Peoples Party will stop the government if it establishes presidential form of government in the country.

Zardari appeared before the accountability court amid high security. Accountability court judge Arshad Malik resumed the case proceedings and inquired whether the pleas of the two accused Noreen and Kiran, who wanted to become approvers in the case had been received.

The NAB Prosecutor replied that the bureau has received the pleas. On April 8, two women had offered to become approvers in the money laundering case. Noreen and Kiran had requested the court that they be allowed to testify as witnesses. The accountability court had directed them to write their pleas and submit them.

Speaking to the media outside the accountability court, the former president said that the government is in the mood to experiment with Pakistan everyday. Speaking about the government establishing presidential form of government in the country, Zardari said, "Let the government try, we will stop them."

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Faryal Talpur has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking pre-arrest bail after being summoned by NAB.

In its report submitted to the Islamabad High Court on Friday, the bureau had requested that the pre-arrest bail granted to Zardari be canceled. NAB said that the former president does not deserve any leniency in the case. NAB also stated in the report that it was not obliged to inform Zardari  before arresting him.

NAB has been investigating Zardari, Talpur, Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza and other responsible in the fake accounts case. On NAB’s request, the case was transferred from Karachi to an accountability court in Islamabad.
