PESHAWAR:  Peshawar High Court on Friday removed Additional District and Session Judge Nowshera on corruption charges.

According to notification issued by PHC administration here Friday, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Zahid Mehmood Additional District and Session Judge Nowshera under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rule 2011.

The Inquiry Officer Ahmed Sultan Tareen District and Session Judge and Legal Draftsman PHC conducted entire inquiry under prescribed procedure and rules.

The accused officer was served with show cause notice and also heard in person.

The competent authority in agreement with the inquiry officer holds that the corruption charges stand proved against the accused and imposed a major penalty of removal from service with immediate effect.
