Pakistan holds talks with US envoy on Afghan peace process
Pakistan Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua and US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad held talks in Islamabad on Friday regarding Afghan peace process.
The talks were held in the Foreign Office and led by Janjua, while the US delegation was led by Khalilzad. During his visit to Pakistan, Khalilzad will also have separate meetings with the civil and military leadership, local media reported.
Before his two-day visit to Pakistan, Khalilzad visited Kabul to brief members of the government on developments in peace talks between Washington and the Taliban. The US envoy met Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and held constructive talks regarding their efforts to meet the Afghan people’s desire for peace,
