Govt to spend over Rs100bn annually for development of tribal areas
Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Monday that the government plans to spend over Rs100 billion annually for 10 years for the development of tribal districts.
The premier took to his Twitter handle and wrote that living up to his government's commitment, they were initiating a three-week consultative process on 10 years Development Plan for former Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The premier further said that this process will be initiated from Bajaur.
"Our people in the tribal area will see unprecedented development as Government plans to spend over Rs100 billion annually for 10 yearrs in tribal districts," PM Khan added.

On his visit to Bajaur last week, the premier had announced Rs2 billion grant to offer interest-free loans to the youth so that they could start their own businesses. The prime minister also announced that his government will introduce Sehat Insaf Card in tribal areas including Bajaur.
The PM had also said that the three percent from the National Finance Commission Award will be spent on tribal areas.
