Sindh Minister for Information and Broadcasting Saeed Ahmed Ghani has said if the cases of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders can be shifted from Sindh to Punjab or Islamabad then the cases of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders should also be shifted from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to Sindh.
Saeed Ghani expressed these views while addressing a news conference here at National Press Club. Provincial ministers Imtiaz Sheikh, Nasir Siyal, Nasir Shah, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Mir Shabbir Bajarani, Mukesh Chawla, Nida Khoro, Sadia Javed, Sanjeela Laghari, Sharjeel Inaam Memon, Mohammad Qasim Soomro, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Farrukh Ali Shah and Mumtaz Jakhrani were also present on the occasion. Senator Rubina Khalid, Senator Krishna Kohli and Nazir Dhoki also attended the conference.
Ghani said that imprisoned leadership of PPP was being treated worse than Indian pilot Abhinandan and Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav as even the basic health facilities had not been provided to them. He said all that injustice was being carried out under a well crafted plan which aimed at targeting PPP for speaking up for the people.
He claimed that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was not making accountability across the board as it was only targeting the opposition leaders. He said NAB was not pursuing the cases of Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Aleema Khan.
"We demand that Pervaiz Khattak, Mehmood Khan, Aleema Khan, Pervaiz Elahi, Assad Qaisar and other powerful individuals, who have allegations against them, should be arrested immediately and cases against them be proceeded in accordance with the constitution and law," he urged.
The minister claimed that millions of rupees loan taken by Fehmida Mirza and Zulfiqar Mira waived off but the action was not taken against them. "The NAB is in action against those who stand by PPP leadership and there is no action against those who are away from PPP leadership or have joined the PTI government," he said.
He claimed that Zardari was not being provided health facilities despite court order and the directives of the medical board. He claimed that NAB could not approve any allegation against Zardari and Faryal Talpur. He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had accepted the hanging but had not changed his position.
He said Zardari had spent 11 years in prison in the past, and his position would not change at present. He said PPP was being victimized as it was raising voice for independence of media, supremacy of the Constitution and parliament, and against the conspiracy of judges as well as the corruption of the government.
He said that "corruption card" has always been used against the PPP, adding, "There are some political orphans in Sindh who are vaccinated after every six months and told that the PPP government is about to depart."
He said judges and NAB officers of Sindh were appointed by the federation and non-conducting of trial in Sindh showed distrust on the judges.
The minister said PPP was not against the accountability but it must be done across the board. He said that accountability was only being done to mislead the people and put the PPP against the wall but the party was neither against accountability nor would it compromise due to such tactics.
