All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has urged Pakistani leadership to act 'decisively' and warned that neither history nor the coming generations will forgive them in case of failure at this critical juncture. In a statement from Sringar, which was received here on Sunday, Geelani urged the people of Pakistan and their leaders in particular, and the Muslim Ummah in general, to come forward at this crucial juncture to help the besieged people of Kashmir.
He called upon Pakistani leadership to continue heightening the political and diplomatic initiatives to the highest level and respond to the deceit of the Indian occupation with full strength and determination. Announcing future course of action against the Indian government's oppressions and suppression of the people of the occupied valley, the Kashmiri leader appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to continue to resist at this critical juncture. "At this juncture, there is no other alternative but to fight with full determination. India should know that even if they bring their entire armed forces into our State, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will not let go the struggle for their rights and liberation", Geelani vowed.
"Each and every person must face the naked Indian brutality with courage. We all can, and must, act according to our abilities; through action or word", he said. He said people should organize peaceful protests and demonstrations in their areas of residence. While doing so, we must remain absolutely disciplined and not give the enemy, who is armed and ready to kill, any excuse whatsoever to hurt our lives and property, he added.
To the decision-making government officials and bureaucrats in general, and people working in the police force especially, he said they must realise that even when they are hand-in-hand in the oppression of their own people, the Indian State does not trust them. The Kashmiri leader further said even if such a humiliation does not awake them to stand up and protest, probably nothing will, and then they should mourn their consciousness and faith, and wait for their destiny of total irrelevance like pro-India politicians in Kashmir.
He also called upon the Kashmiri people living outside the State, to keep them informed of the situation back home, adding that they must participate in the resistance struggle by acting as ambassadors of Kashmiri people all over the world. Geelani further stated that the Indians State's occupation and its machinations are as hurtful for the Muslims of the Kashmir valley as for Jammu's Dogra community; as against the interests of the Muslims of Pir Panjal and Kargil as for the Buddhists of Ladakh.
He said people should contribute at their own level and according to their capacities and participate in the glorious caravan of resistance towards the goal of complete freedom and decimation of the Indian occupation. Referring to the grave situation in the IOK post August 5 illegal steps by the Modi government, Geelani said the entire region has been transformed into a prison, adding that even as we continue to receive immensely grim news from every corner, the Indian State has made extensive efforts to hide their campaign of brutal repression from the outside world.
"Not only have they blocked the entire communication systems used by common people since about the beginning of the month, they have also gagged local reportage and news media without any formal declaration", he said, adding that no news about the brutalities and repression of the Indian armed forces, killings, and arrests of thousands of youth is being published. He said the common people are unable to know about their kith and kin, adding that while the oppressors might try to hide the reality, but history will not spare anyone.
"The blank pages will speak loudly. The Indian State has long used elaborate deception to obfuscate Kashmiri people's narrative of struggle at the international level", he said. However, in spite of India's best efforts, Kashmir issue is being highlighted throughout the world like never before, he added. He said the recently concluded United Nations Security Council meeting on Kashmir as well as the international media coverage are its clear examples. He pointed out that the recent events have shown in clear light the real deceitful and brutal nature of the Indian State in Kashmir.
"The rulers from Delhi are drunk in power and arrogance of majoritarianism and they have snatched away all percept of humanity, ethics, and democracy", he said, adding that they have increased manifold the already enormous Indian military presence in Kashmir to force unilateral decisions upon people who have been made prisoners in their own homes. He pointed out that the increased military presence was used to not only imprison the pro-freedom leadership and people, but also large sections of the pro-occupation machinery.
"...This is a great victory for us that now no narrative apart from our ideals of the struggle for self-determination and justice remain relevant in the Kashmiri political discourse", he said. He pointed out that even those who would never tire of flaunting their pro-India credentials and ties to the Indian system have realized that the Indian State does not care about the lives of Kashmiri people, but is only interested in occupying our land whatsoever the cost. "We must fight the enemy in unison. History remains witness to the fact that big military powers have repeatedly perished in front of the force of peoples' unity and truth..." Geelani added.
