The members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Thursday raised slogans against each other in front of the Parliament House. When Federal Minister for Communication Murad Saeed, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Azam Khan Swati and other members of the PTI reached the 'dice of media' after the adjournment of the session of the National Assembly and started a press conference, the PML-N leaders including Ashan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb and others also reached there and started sloganeering.
At this moment, the members of both the parties raised slogans against the leadership of each other. Some members of both the parties also scuffled and pushed one another. They continued raising slogans for almost half-an-hour. At last, the members of PML-N stepped back while waiting for their turn.
While addressing the press conference, Saeed said that the government is committed to retrieve the looted wealth of the nation from the corrupt elements. He said that the process of accountability will continue without any interruption. He further said that the opposition has adopted unparliamentarily and irresponsible attitude in the National Assembly which has no precedent in the country's history. He said that the transactions of billions of rupees had been made in the accounts of vendors and other poor people. He said that accountability of money launders and thieves would continue.
He said that there is a high rate of poverty in Sindh. The people are dying of poverty while rulers of Sindh are looting their money and are enjoying perks and privileges. About the Kashmir issue, he said the time of freedom of Kashmir has come and a new spirit has been infused in the freedom movement. He said Kashmir would be freed and India would be divided in many parts.
While addressing the media persons after the PTI leaders ended their press conference, Ahsan Iqbal said that the joint sitting of the Parliament on Wednesday passed the resolution unanimously and gave a message of unity to the nation and Kashmiri people on the issue of Kashmir. But the PTI government does not want to continue this unity. He said, "We should have given a message to India on August 14 by showing unity but the PTI government has divided the nation."
He said that during the last 72 years of previous governments of Pakistan, India could not muster up courage to change its constitution about Kashmir but the PTI government showed weakness. He said that the PML-N would continue political, moral and diplomatic support of Kashmiris. He strongly condemned the arrest of Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz and said that the PML-N would not be deterred from the arrests of its leaders. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's sister Haleema Khan bought flats and other properties in the United Kingdom and United States but there is no accountability in this regard.
"Imran Khan wants to press the voice of PML-N and divert attention of the nation from the Kashmir issue by arresting the party leaders. He has done bargaining on the issue of Kashmir," he alleged. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of the PML-N said that the Prime Minister had already said in 2016 that Kashmir should be divided into three parts. "Imran Khan made bargaining on Kashmir issue during his visit to the United States. The people of Pakistan will not accept it. The Article-6 of the Constitution should be applied on Imran Khan," he claimed.
Khawaja Asif of PML-N said that the PTI government is using the institutions for personal victimisation. If all the leaders are arrested and silence is spread in the country, this silence would be a signal of a change in the country, he pointed out. He said that the nation is being divided and the PTI government is diverting attention from the issues of price hike, unemployment and others by arresting the PML-N leaders. Secretary General PML-N Marriyum Aurangzeb said, "This Prime Minister is not only 'selected' but also a slave and is making the nation slave."
