Card holders of PM’s Sehat Sahulat Programme to get free of cost surgeries
Promising that the Sehat (health) Card Scheme will benefit approximately 1.5 crore people currently living below the poverty line, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched on Monday the first phase of the Sehat Sahulat Programme.
Addressing the launch ceremony in Islamabad, the premier said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had given Sehat (health) cards to more than half of the households that were living below the poverty line in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The premier added that in order to launch the Sehat card countrywide, it took the PTI sometime but it is better late than never.
PM Khan further said that under this program, card holders will be offered angioplasty, brain surgery, cancer and several other medical operations free of cost. He said that through the card, poor people will be able to manage their expenses.
The premier further said that these cards will be distributed in Islamabad, the tribal areas and then all over the country.
