Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib has claimed that Sharif brothers are trying to escape accountability. Habib expressed these views while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House on Friday. "The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will not make any deal with Sharif brothers and will use all legal ways to bring back Sharif bothers if they flee the country. The looted money will be recovered from them and will be spent on the people of Pakistan," he said.
He said Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif had run away and now former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also wanted to flee the country. He said Nawaz Sharif had also submitted applications for extension in his bail.
The PTI leader said whenever Sharif brothers were made accountable they ran away from the country. "Today, if we give permission to Sharif bothers to go aboard then we will have to allow other prisoners too. Law is equal for all. Nobody is more powerful than the law," he added.
He said Shahbaz Sharif was the chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) but he chose to escape the country. Habib said they only came to power for looting public money and when they were asked about accountability, they ran abroad, adding Sharif family was not concerned about the public issues.
He said Sharif bothers claimed that they established state-of-the-art hospitals in the country during their tenures. Now, they should make treatment in those hospitals instead of going aboard. "Soft attitude should not be adopted for those who looted the money of nation," he said.
"I ask Shahbaz Sharif to come to the country and face the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and give answers to the Parliament," he added.
Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Maleeka Ali Bokhari said there was no National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) for culprits who plundered the national wealth cruelly.
While talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, she said it was privilege of the Parliament and speaker to appoint the PAC chairman.
She said Maryam Nawaz of the PML-N had run a campaign against military and judiciary which was a shameful act.
