The country's exports and imports during February 2019 against January 2019 have witnessed a decline of 7.54 percent and 7.19 percent, respectively. According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data released here on Tuesday, on a month on month basis in terms of US dollars, the country's exports in February 2019 recorded at $1.9 billion compared to $ 2.04 billion in January 2019, which shows a decrease of 7.54 percent.
During the period under review, Pakistani imports also witnessed a decline of 7.19 percent from $4.5 billion in January to $ 4.18 billion.
Similarly, on year on year basis, the country's exports witnessed a decline of 0.37 percent from $1.896 billion in February 2018 to $1.889 billion in February 2019.
The country's exports during July-February 2018-19, have witnessed an increase of nearly 2 percent from $14.9 billion in July- February 2017-18 to $ 15.1 billion.
During July-February 2018-19, country's imports recorded at $4.2 billion against $4.77 billion in July-February 2017-18 showing a decline of 12.2 percent, the PBS data said.
During July-February, the country's trade deficit shrank by 20 percent from $2.87 billion to $2.3 billion dollars.
The country imported $4.2 billion goods and services in February against $4.19 billion in January which shows a decline of 7.19 percent. In February 2019, country's trade deficit on month on month basis recorded at $2.3 billion against $2.61 billion in January, showing a decline of 6.9 percent, the PBS data said.
The country in terms of Pakistani rupees in February 2019 exported Rs261.7 billions goods and services against Rs283.4 billions goods and services. During the period under review the country imported Rs579 billion goods and services against Rs624.6 billion goods and services imported in January.
