Successful implementation of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor will be a win-win for both Pakistan and China. From Pakistan's perspective, the inflows of massive foreign capital and expertise will immensely help develop its battered infrastructure and communication systems in order to give credibility to its long-term economic ambitions. The mega project will certainly enable it to mobilize adequate financial resources to ensure a markedly improved law and order across country, particularly in areas that host CPEC projects. Raising more and more paramilitary forces and the personnel of other law enforcement agencies will be an answer to the issues of security and joblessness as well. Insofar as China is concerned, the former 'Middle Kingdom' finds in the CPEC a historic opportunity to have access to the Arabian Sea and beyond through a land route. Historically, Chinese Muslims living in Xinjiang used to undertake for centuries arduous journeys to traverse or climb rugged terrains that constitute the present-day Pakistan's Northern Areas to reach Karachi port to disembark for Hajj pilgrimage. The CPEC shall surely eliminate the Chinese Muslims' travel hardships to reach Karachi and Gwadar ports. Realizing the gravity of challenges that it faces in the South China Sea amid growing US belligerence, China perhaps believes that its access to the Arabian Sea through land constitutes the best hedge against deepening threats of a global trade war.
