The price of paper has registered another rise of Rs 12 per kilogram, pushing the total price to Rs 96 per kg in the market, said sources. They said the price of paper has witnessed a total of Rs 18 increase in a short span of time that has given rise the apprehension of an increase in the prices of syllabus books and copies.
A rise in prices would hit the economy of the middle class, which is already unhappy over the rise in petrol prices, which has led to an overall increase in prices right from vegetable to appliances. Meanwhile, traders have blamed the paper mills for the increase in price, saying that there is no mechanism of checking the price hike on their end.
