PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Shah Farman Friday highlighted the importance of vote saying its judicious use can change the destiny of a nation and help strengthening the norms of democracy.
He expressed these views as a chief guest in a ceremony held at Governor House in connection with National Voters Day here Friday.
The event was arranged by Election Commission of Pakistan with an objective to create awareness among the masses about importance of vote. The ceremony was attended by member Election Commission of Pakistan, Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser, Provincial Election Commissioner, Pir Maqbol Ahmad, teachers and students of varsities and representatives of civil society.
The governor said that it is necessary for all of us to understand the importance of vote because it can bring positive change and led country and its people towards prosperity and development.
Emphasizing significance of vote, governor said that voters should use their vote with honesty and sincerity.
Earlier, Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser and Provincial Election Commissioner Pir Maqbol Ahmad in their address highlighted the importance of participation in electoral process, awareness about voting and efforts of election commission.
An awareness creating walk was also carried out that was led by Governor KP.
