President for equal educational opportunities to children to take country forward: President

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi has stressed for provision of equal education opportunities to all children to take forward the country on the path of development.

Addressing a function organized by Pakistan Bait ul Maal here on Thursday, in connection with Universal Children's Day, the President noted that only those nations make progress which invest in the uplift of their children.

On Thalassemia, the President said this could be prevented by ensuring that the couple getting married goes for medical tests before their wedding.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Pakistan Baitul Maal Aoun Abbas said they plan to expand the network of Sweet Homes to accommodate more number of orphans.

He said twenty four new sweet homes will be established by March next year in small cities. He said we also plan to establish six new Thalassemia centers in three months time.
