Ministry of commerce and TDAP Faisalabad organized a consultative session for strategic trade policy frame work 2018-2023 with trade association and trade bodies of Faisalabad Jhang, Chiniot and Sargodha. The fundamental purpose of holding a seminar is to gather input from the real stakeholders of business community in the formulation of trade framework for next five years. Speaking on the occasion, Director General Trade Policy Nauman Aslam said that the main purpose of trade policy frame work is to provide continuity, consistency and stability to the economic policy of the country. He hopped that after formulation of trade frame work the business community would enjoy more predictable economic policies. He further said that ministry of commerce and TDAP is reaching out to business community for giving them best facilitation and enabling environment.
He further said that ministry of commerce and TDAP is holding a series of consultation with business community across the country. The Director General further told that special attention will also be paid on the promotion of SMEs, women entrepreneurship and investment in the country. About the decline in export, he said that it was due to rescission in international market but now the exports of the country are on upward.
The Director General further stated that strenuous efforts would be made to redress the problems confronted by the business community in new trade policy enabling them to play their instrumental role in enhancing the export-volume of the country. The meeting was attended by official bearers of Faisalabad chamber of Commerce and industry, Jhang chamber, Chiniot chamber, PHMA, APBUMA, PTEA, APTPMA, Faisalabad women chamber and Pakistan foundry association and small and medium enterprises association.
