SU canteen opens

Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, Vice-Chancellor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro inaugurated the students' canteen after its major renovations at Arts Faculty building, on Wednesday. He was flanked by Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Vice-Chancellor, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro and Professor Dr Beekha Ram, Vice-Chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro who had joined him on the occasion on his special invitation.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC SU said that sound health has its origin in quality food and hygienic environment, adding that students stay away from their homes, with no one to look them after if they fall ill, making clean meal more so necessary for them. "As their head parent in my capacity as institution captain it becomes my obligation to ensure they get quality food at varsity canteens," he maintained.
VC MUET Dr Uqaili said that hygiene was the principal health imperative and that all institutional heads in all spheres across the country should ensure clean environs at food centres to prevent eruption of ailments. VC LUMHS Dr Beekha Ram stressed the need for clean drinking water and use of quality cooking oil, saying the two served as major causes of majority diseases.
