The Agriculture-base that Allah has blessed Sindh with provides a unique opportunity to become the food basket for the Middle-East. SEDF aims to enable enterprises to enhance their operational efficiency and drastically improve quality of produce to meet international standards. SEDF has supported enterprises in various clusters in the Agri business value chain by extending financial assistance, sharing of market insights and international best practices.
There is enormous potential in Meat, Poultry and Dairy. The most promising Agri opportunities are across the value chains of commodities like Dates, Guava, Mango, Red Chilies and Rice.
At SEDF, our belief is that only by creating an amicable business environment will we be able to effectively impact the economy of Sindh, from the bottom up, and I welcome all who would like to partner with us in this journey. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to begin the New Year with the Sindh Livestock, Dairy, Fisheries, Poultry and Agriculture Exhibition and Seminar at the Sindh Agriculture University in Tando Jam.
This is the only such seat of learning in the province and continues to impart high quality education in fundamental sectors of the economy. It is important to stress that the local solutions provided by institutions like this will be the driving force behind true modernisation and development of the agricultural and livestock sectors. Therefore, it is a particular privilege to be here.
We wish to link businesses with the cutting edge in agricultural research here to improve this vital sector of the provincial economy. Emboldened by the success of previous years, this event has become a signature event of the Government of Sindh. SEDF firmly believes that that LDFA -2017 offers promising and rewarding opportunities for its visitors and exhibitors this year, with greater insight into the investment opportunities into the province.
I would like to appreciate the efforts those who have worked tirelessly to make this a reality this year in what is a new location for us. I have confidence that this event and further like it will continue to strengthen, diversify and encourage growth while moving us further in the direction of a knowledge-based economy and society.
