The Karachi Port handled 187,949 tonnes of cargo comprising 157,048 tonnes of import cargo and 30,901 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 157,048 tonnes comprised of 73,072 tonnes of containerised cargo; 36,476 tonnes of general cargo: 10,400 tonnes of rock phosphate and 37,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,901 tonnes comprised of 24,901 tonnes of containerised cargo and 6,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
There were seven ships namely MSC Lucy, Express Kailash, Octaden, Jin Ji, Hasan, Fareast Harmony and Oriental Queen carrying containers, oil tanker, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Pretty World, Zoilo, Vil Baltic and Akdeniz-M carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Cosco Sao Paulo, Northern Dependant, MT Quetta and Vil Baltic carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while two ships namely Kota Kaya and Hyundai Highness carrying containers are expected to sail on Thursday.
There were five vessels viz. Cosco Boston, Kota Kaya, Italy Milione, Wan Hai-506 and Red Cosmos carrying containers and soyabean meal respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while three vessels viz. Chemroad Nova, Rowan-3 and Jasco Chang Zhou carrying oil tanker, coal and steel respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 115,805 tonnes comprising 99,731 tonnes of import cargo and 16,074 tonnes of export cargo including 3,246 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 99,731 tonnes includes 29,512 tonnes of diesel oil; 4,200 tonnes of palm oil; 800 tonnes of LPG; 3,400 tonnes of coal; 45 tonnes of project cargo; 14,574 tonnes of soyabean oil; 1,600 tonnes of chemical and 45,600 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,074 tonnes includes 16,074 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,246 containers comprising of 2,400 containers import and 846 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There were four ships namely MV Vera, MV Fu Ming, MV Happy Penguin carrying project cargo, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV Northern Monument carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV Al Hilal, CV Northern Monument, CV MSC Al-Ghero, MV Vera, MV Fu Ming, MV Saadong Hai Yao, MT Nordic Gas, MT Happy Penguin, MT Ganti Bute and MT Bunga Alamanda currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV MSC Lucy, CV MSC Salina, MV Golden Trader, MV Achilleas, MT IGLC Anka, MT Umm Bab, MT Shalamar, MT Lahore, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Ashada, MT Bahra, MT Gold Pacific, MT Grand Ace-2 and MT Bunga Angelica carrying containers, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
There were seven vessels viz. CV MSC Salina, MV Achilleas, MT IGLC Anka, MT Umm Bab, MT Lahore, MT Gold Pacific and MT Grand Ace-2 carrying containers, coal, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There were five ships namely MV Finsse, MT Arietis, MT Brizo, MT Distya Amiya and MT Bunga Akasia carrying project cargo, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
There is one ships namely CV Suez Canal carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while three ships namely CV CNNI Aralico, CV Hugo Schulte and CV MSC Lucy carrying containers are due to arrive on Friday.
