The Karachi Port handled 126,175 tonnes of cargo comprising 106,372 tonnes of import cargo and 19,803 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 106,372 tonnes comprised of 39,338 tonnes of containerised cargo; 28,224 tonnes of general cargo: 7,810 tonnes of rock phosphate and 31,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,803 tonnes comprised of 19,803 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were four ships namely Osaka Tower, MOL Endowment, Xin Zhang Zhou and Athina carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Northern Dependant, MSC Lucky, Express Kailash, Hyundai Highness, MT Quetta, Han Ren and Oriental Queen carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Express Kailash carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while four ships namely Cosco Sao Paulo, MSC Lucky, MT Quetta and Vil Baltic carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were four vessels viz. Ever Divine, Pretty World, Alpine Persefone and Sagar Kanta carrying containers, mogas and coal respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while eight vessels viz. YM Orchid, Cosco Boston, Kota Kaya, Italy Milione, Wan Hai-506, Red Cosmos, Vil Baltic and Chemroad Nova carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and steel respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 64,557 tonnes includes 12,792 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,550 tonnes of palm oil; 2,239 tonnes of LPG; 7,600 tonnes of coal; 1,239 tonnes of project cargo; 7,975 tonnes of soyabean oil; 2,101 tonnes of chemical and 25,061 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,320 tonnes includes 24,320 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,599 containers comprising of 1,319 containers import and 1,280 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely CV MSC Maeva carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Al-Hilal and MV Jumbo Kinetic carrying containers and project cargo respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Al Hilal, CV MSC Maeva, MV Jumbo Kinetic, MV Fu Ming, MV Saadong Hai Yao, MT Nordic Gas, MT Happy Penguin, MT Ganti Bute and MT Bunga Alamanda currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely CV Al Hilal, MV Golden Trader, MV Achilleas, MT IGLC Anka, MT Shalamar, MT Lahore, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Ashada, MT Gold Pacific, MT Grand Ace-2 and MT Bunga Angelica carrying containers, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were three vessels viz. CV MSC Al Ghero, CV Northern Monument and MV Vera carrying containers and project cargo expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were six ships namely CV CNNI Aralico, MV Finsse, MV Vera, MT Arietis, MT Distya Amiya and MT Bunga Akasia carrying containers, project cargo, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
There are two ships namely CV Maersk Salina and MT Brizo carrying containers and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while another ship namely CV Suez Canal carrying containers is due to arrive on Thursday.
