The 49th death anniversary of Pakistan's second Prime Minister Sir Khawaja Nazimuddin will be observed on October 22. Khawaja Nazimuddin was born on 19 July, 1894, in Dhaka. He received his education from Dunstable Grammar School in England, then at Aligarh Muslim University and later at Trinity Hall, Cambridge till mid-1930s.
After returning to British India, he became involved in politics in his native Bengal. In August 1947, he was elected as the leader of the Muslim League Party of East Bengal. Sir Khawaja died on October 22, 1964, at the age of 70. He was buried at Suhrawardy Udyan in his hometown of Dhaka.
