ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday sought a reply from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a case regarding freezing bank accounts of former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi.
Justice Aamer Farooq of IHC heard the case filed by Hamid Saeed Kazmi against freezing of bank accounts.
During the course of proceedings, the court asked the FIA that why the department was keeping the bank accounts frozen even after the acquittal of Kazmi in the corruption scam.
The court directed the FIA to submit explanation on next date of hearing and adjourned the case till April 25.
Kazmi in his plea stated that the FIA had frozen his accounts illegally even after his acquittal. He requested the court to direct the FIA to unfreeze his accounts.
