MULTAN: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No 1 Multan Thursday awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment to two members of banned organisations and ordered forfeiture of their properties on the charge of possessing explosives in October last year.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Multan team had arrested two accused from an area near Lahore Mor in Khanewal in an intelligence-based operation on Oct 12, 2017 and had recovered three hand-grenades from them.
The CTD Multan had registered an FIR against Muhammad Shabbir, resident of Ahmadpur East and Muhammad Khubaib of Khanpur, Rahimyar Khan.
ATC-1 Judge Malik Khalid Mahmood awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment to each of the accused under Section 5 of Explosive Substance Act 1908 besides ordering forfeiture of their whole property in favour of the government under Section of 5-A of the same Act.
