Three political bigwigs visit Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Wednesday was politically an active and busy day for Peshawarites and media as three political bigwigs including PMLN President Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, PTI chairman Imran Khan and PPP Deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandiwala visited the city and addressed workers.
Each party leader in his address hoped that his party would outshine in upcoming general election but PTI was mainly criticized by both PMLN and PPP leaders due to its government in the province and snail paced Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in the provincial capital making the people life miserable.
PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif who visited the city for the first time as party president slammed PTI over BRT and said he was hoping to see a big change in the provincial capital but found nothing except ditches, pollution and traffic jam.
Shehbaz Sharif termed Peshawar as his first home and appreciated hospitality of the people and recalled his past visits to the city.
Referred to famous Qissa Khawani Bazar, he said Imran Khan’s claims of change in KP seemed one of a stories of Qissa Khawani bazaar to him.
He also visited Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ANP leader Ghulam Bilour and discussed political situation but refused to comment on any future political alliance with any party.
PPP leader and Deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandiwalal who was also on his maiden visit to Peshawar explained his visit as part of celebration of PPP’s victory in Senate polls and termed it a bellwether of the party’s victory in upcoming general election.
He said PPP and PTI provided him an opportunity by electing him as Deputy Chairman Senate to represent an undeveloped province.
PTI leader Imran Khan during a ceremony claimed huge changes in the province in education and health sectors as well as in police force and governance. He termed BRT to be a great project for Peshawarites.
He said PTI would merger FATA into KP if elected to power in upcoming general election and announced huge initiatives for FATA youth and parliamentarians.
