Lucky Cement Limited, the largest cement manufacturer in the country is honoured to be the first and only Pakistani company to receive level check 'A+' for its Sustainability Report 2012 by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI is a multi-stakeholder, network-based organisation which has developed a comprehensive Sustainability Reporting Framework.
GRI enjoys strategic partnerships with the United Nations Environment Program, the UN Global Compact, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, International Organisation for Standardisation and many others. With a proven track record of fair and transparent practices, Lucky Cement's Sustainability Report is based on the disclosures on labour management, environmental sustainability and uplifting the living standards of the society in general.
The report explicitly showcases the environmental management through reducing carbon footprints and efficient waste management, energy-efficiency and impact of these initiatives on company's financial performance. The Pakistani cement giant Lucky Cement which is rapidly extending its operations globally has already been lauded by the local bodies and regulators for its environmental sustainability and green operations.-PR
