BEIJING: China will export technology for a 160 km/h high-speed railway train to Pakistan, state broadcaster CCTV said on Wednesday.

A first batch of 46 train carriages has been loaded and will be shipped on Nov. 3.

China’s Xi says will support Pakistan in stabilising its financial situation

Parts for another 184 carriages will be delivered to Pakistan to assemble, the report said, adding this is the first time China has exported the technology.

The news is good railway infrastructure is back bone for industrial growth but problem is the level of Editorial flaws in news, the picture describes it a High Speed Bullet Train with Electric locomotives on the other hand we are still on 2nd Generation Diesel Power locomotives. Beside this what are these carriages for coal transportation or passenger transportation? Support Government in narrative building but please do some research as well before posting it.

@MJ, you think this technology will be transferred for free, everything costs dollar, which we don't have. We have to invest in projects which bring us dollar inflows not outflows, which this project will certainly result in

Why does this sound similar to Chinese funded, built and operated Kenyan railway? Besides, Pakistan needs debt relief and aid to rebuild, not high speed rail to nowhere. 72 j10C and now this. Are we paying this upfront or incurring more debt?

Ok we cannot even get high speed internet working well... We have the technology, but unlike the alchemists of old who would try to make lead into gold, our government has this unique characteristic of turning gold into cow dung, which is what they are going to do with this rail technology.

Everything chinese doing is essentially a loan to the govt. If they are interested in doing business and investment in Pakistan, they need to do something in competition, like manufacturing, export, services. Right now, It's our lazy govt who do not want even to pick gabage and provide clean drinking water, so outsourcing to Chineses. We will be exploited again for out Govt's 'haddd harami''

Is this for free, or Pakistan is buying this. If Pakistan is buying this, then the priority is not right. You dont need 160k/hr train when the tracks do not support it.

@Uzair Akbar, Very good point. What is the price. Is this the right investment. Why buy high speed train. May be it looks good politically in the short run, even though it not in the long term interst of the country. Pak does not have tracks to support high speed train. Then why buy?

Prior to import we need to upgrade our decade old poor infrastructure. Our trains are slow due to deteriorated railway tracks.

Railways are a climate-smart and efficient way to move people and freight. Railways promote economic growth while cutting greenhouse gas emissions. They are a clean and compact way to move millions of passengers and millions of tons of goods across countries and continents.
