Bilawal vows to defeat Imran Khan in next elections

  • Foreign Minister says PTI chairman trying to be selected again

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday vowed to defeat former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the next general elections, Aaj News reported.

While addressing a victory rally in Karachi’s Malir where his party defeated the PTI chairman by a margin of over 10,000 votes in Sunday’s by-elections, Bilawal said Imran had been “selected” in the previous elections and was now trying to get “selected” again.

“We will make sure he retires now for good and spends the rest of his time in Bani Gala,” Bilawal said.

Bilawal led a "victory" parade throughout the constituency and met with elders of the area. He thanked them for their support and congratulated the winning candidate Abdul Hakeem Baloch.

Bilawal also thanked the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) for backing the PPP candidate to defeat Imran Khan.

Terming Imran a “liar” and “charity thief”, Bilawal said that people had forgotten his four-year term soon after he was ousted from power.

“But, people could not forget his promises to give 10 million jobs to youngsters and a million houses,” he said, adding: "Contrary to his promise, millions of youngsters have become jobless and homeless during the PTI-led government.”

He said Imran pursued a politics of pulling the nation apart while the PPP trusts the people and has followed a politics of bringing different people together.

As was proven by past PPP leaders including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, the party has once again defeated a dictator.
