KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 163,265 tonnes of cargo comprising 136,669 tonnes of import cargo and 26,596 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 136,669 comprised of 53,067 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,148 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 8,250 tonnes of Wheat, 3,003 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds & 70,201 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,596 tonnes comprised of 24,909 tonnes of containerized cargo, 100 tonnes of Bulk Cargo & 1,587 tonnes of Corns.
Nearly, 8116 containers comprising of 4189 containers import and 3927 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1001 of 20’s and 1452 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 11 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 496 of 20’s and 375 of 40’s loaded containers while 251 of 20’s and 1346 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Some 04, ships namely Pilion, Hyundai Oakland, Seamax Westport and Californai Trader have berthed at Karachi Port.
Around 07, ships namely, Cosco Hamburg, Cma Cgm Berlioz, Silver Ginny, DM Emerald, Thorswind, Teera Bhum and Cosco Antwerp sailed out from Karachi Port.
Approximately, 09 cargoes Jolly Quazo, Pisces Leader, Diva, Tan Binh 259, Oriental Hibiscus, Al Shaffiah, Hyundai Bangkok, Yong Da 9 and Spiekroog were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 11 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a gas carrier ‘Kanha’ left the Port on Tuesday morning, while 04 more ships, Sth Sydney, MSC Elaine, Maersk Brooklyn and Agonistis are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput of 136,605 tonnes, comprising 111,075 tonnes imports cargo and 25,530 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 1,224` Containers (567 TEUs Imports and 657 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 13 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them a containers ship ‘Maersk Pittsburgh’ & another container ship ‘Henrika Schulte’ carrying ‘Containers’ are expected to take berths at ‘QICT’ on Tuesday, 2nd Aug-2022.
