Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 194,364 tonnes of cargo comprising 142,219 tonnes of import cargo and 52,145 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 142,219 comprised of 47,807 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 22,561 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 2,959 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 68,892 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 52,145 tonnes comprised of 48,075 tonnes of containerized cargo, 650 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 3,420 tonnes of Rice.

Some, 8964 containers comprising of 3333 containers import and 5631 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 915 of 20’s and 1160 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 49 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1099 of 20’s and 579 of 40’s loaded containers while 112 of 20’s and 1631 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Tuesday.

Around 02 ships namely, Xin Wu han and Arkas have berth at Karachi Port.

Nearly, 04 ships namely Chem. Jupiter, OOCL Norflok, X-Press Anglesey and M.T Quetta have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 07 cargoes namely SC Taipei, Ningbo Express, Northern Dedication, Teera Bhum, Hahhah Schulte, Kavita and Leo 1 were expected to arrive at the port on the same day.

PORT QASIM

A total of 10 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a chemicals carrier ‘Delta Gas’ left the Port on Tuesday morning, while six more ships, MSC Clea, Seago Istanbul, Teera Bhum, Thassos, Theo-T and Jishun are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 156,358 tonnes, comprising 111,882 tonnes imports cargo and 38,709 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,328` Containers (1,051 TEUs Imports and 2,277 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 14 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 05 ships, Kaisa, Mild Boom, Sereno, Teera Bhum and Seamax Bridgeport & two more ships, Maersk Atlanta and Al Bahiya carrying LPG, Palm oil, Gas oil, Containers and LNG are expected to take berths at SSGC, LCT, FOTCO, QICT and EETL on Tuesday, 10th May-2022.
