KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 106,863 tonnes of cargo comprising 35,523 tonnes of import cargo and 71,340 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 35,523 comprised of 14,847 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,143 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 3,753 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds and 14,780 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 71,340 tonnes comprised of 39,354 tonnes of containerized cargo, 126 Tons of Bulk Cargo, 9,000 tonnes of Barite Lumps, 2,220 tonnes of Cement, 8,212 Tons of Mill Scale, 628 tonnes of Rice and 11,800 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
About, 3605 containers comprising of 1283 containers import and 2322 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 197 of 20’s and 396 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 147 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 524 of 20’s and 525 of 40’s loaded containers while 188 of 20’s and 280 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
More or less 05 ships, namely Eva Bergen, Msc Malin, Al Shaffiah, Ever Ursula and MT Lahore have berth at Karachi Port.
Some 08 ships namely Kota Padang, Uafl Dubai, Jal Laxmi, Celsius Naples, Northern Dexterity, Encore, Johnnu Traveller and Hansa Roternburg have sailed out from Karachi Port.
Nearly 09 cargoes namely, Caribbean I, Rebecca Schulte, Stolt Alm, Bay Spirit, Cosco Roterdam DS Cougar, Cul Huizhou, Eridanus Leader and Thorswind were expected to reach at the port.
