He was addressing a function after inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two chambers. Underlining the importance of Faisalabad, he said that it has emerged as a hub of industrial, business, and commercial activities and was poised to maintain its supremacy in the coming years with phenomenal growth in exports from this city.

He said that two mega industrial estates are under colonization in Faisalabad which would catalyze the overall economy of Pakistan. He said that Faisalabad was centrally located, and it was second in revenue generation. “It was also providing maximum jobs to the unemployed youth”, he said and added that it has a robust SME sector which was also contributing a major share in the textile export of Pakistan in addition to catering to its domestic clothing needs.

He said that the SME sector was currently facing a liquidity crunch and FCCI was negotiating with the policy makers to facilitate this sector which has the potential to drag Pakistan out from the economic crisis. He urged the different chambers across the country to raise their unified voice on economic issues so that policies in line with the ground realities could be introduced.

He welcomed the visit of the office bearers of the Khanewal Chamber and said that both chambers would cooperate with each other in resolving the issues of their members. He assured to extend full support to the Khanewal chamber in the capacity building of its staff. He said that we would also join hands to improve the overall working of standing committees of the two chambers. According to the MoU both chambers would collaborate in diverse fields with a special focus on the production of skilled human resources.
