Irregularities in recruitment process of FBR: Senate body takes serious notice

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Finance, Thursday, took serious notice of the irregularities in the recruitment process of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on various positions of Customs Department. Senate Standing Committee on Finance directed the FBR to stop the process of recruitment of lower staff including drivers, and naib qasid, and revise the selection criteria.

The issue was taken up by the committee after receiving complaints in the selection process of different positions of Customs Department. Senate has referred the issue to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance on revision of criteria for the recruitment process.

Committee members objected that how the Chief Collector of Customs or senior customs officials can make their own local criteria for jobs by modifying the federal government's criteria.
