LAHORE: Emphasizing the need for raising awareness about thalassaemia, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Saturday that getting tested for thalassaemia is important for every adult before being married.
During his visit to Sundas Foundation here today, Fawad said, “Thalassaemia test prior to inter-family or out of family marriage was crucial as a preventive measure against the disease.” He said that efforts should be made to make thalassaemia test affordable.
Earlier, the minister met the children suffering from thalassaemia at Sundas Foundation and distributed gifts among them. Sundas Foundation Chairman Sohail Warriach and Director Khalid Abbas Dar were also present.
