LAHORE: Announcing that the federal and provincial budgets will provide more relief to the public, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said on Friday that the government with its successful economic policies has put the country in the right direction on the economic front.
While talking to a delegation led by PTI leader Tahir Anjum, at Governor’s House, Lahore, the governor said that everyone except the opposition is acknowledging that Pakistan’s GDP growth is estimated to reach 4%. Those who wanted to overthrow the government are struggling for political survival. Prime Minister Imran Khan sticks with his stance against corruption adding that transparency and merit will strengthen Pakistan, he said.
The governor maintained that the government is strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI has no threat from the opposition’s long marches so the opposition should wait patiently for the general elections.
Sarwar said that all international institutions including IMF and World Bank are acknowledging Pakistan’s economic growth and development but the opposition is pursuing a policy of non-compliance.
