ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded 100 Covid-19 deaths, the highest number after December 23, 2020 when 111 people died of Covid-19. The latest Covid-19 related data issued here on Tuesday by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said the country reported 4,048 new cases of the Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the national tally of Covid-19 cases to 663,200, since the pandemic outbreak in Feb 2020.

The NCOC data revealed that Punjab recorded the highest, 73 deaths followed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 18 deaths, Sindh four deaths, Balochistan one death, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) two deaths, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) two deaths, and no death was reported in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

In the past 24 hours, Pakistan reported 2,081 Covid-19 recoveries, which took the national tally of recovered patients to 600,278, while at present, the total active cases are 48,566.

Around 100 corona patients have died during the past 24 hours, 92 of whom were under treatment in hospitals and eight in quarantines or homes, according to the NCOC. Sindh with 265,158 cases is on top, followed by Punjab with 217,694 Covid-19 cases, the KP 86,044 cases, ICT 57,201 cases, Balochistan 19,535 cases, AJK 12,549 cases, and G-B 5,016 cases. Punjab with 6,319 Covid-19 deaths is on top followed by Sindh with 4,495 deaths, KP 2,319 deaths, ICT 563 deaths, AJK 350 deaths, Balochistan 207 deaths, and G-B 103 deaths.

The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Multan 67 percent, ICT 67 percent, Gujranwala 60 percent, and Lahore 63 percent.

The maximum oxygen beds (alternate oxygen providing facility other than ventilator administered as per medical requirement of Covid patient) were also occupied in four major areas: Gujrat 74 percent, Gujranwala 85 percent, Peshawar 81 percent, and Swat 84 percent.

Around 413 ventilators were occupied elsewhere in the country, while no Covid affected person was on a ventilator in the AJK, G-B, and Balochistan.

Some 46,269 tests were conducted across the country on Monday, including 9,030 in Sindh, 23,664 in Punjab, 6,002 in the KP, 6,126 in the ICT, 466 in Balochistan, 257 in G-B, and 724 in the AJK.

A total of 10,153,364 Covid-19 tests have been conducted so far, while 631 hospitals are equipped with Covid-19 facilities. Some 3,749 corona patients are admitted to hospitals across the country.
