At least 7 dead, more than 100 injured in Peshawar seminary explosion

At least seven people died and more than 100 were injured in an explosion at a seminary in Peshawar's Dir Colony on Tuesday morning.
The blast took place during a Quran class. The police and rescue teams reached the area and have cordoned it off. The injured mostly students are being shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital where an emergency has also been declared.
According to City SP Waqar Azeem, an unidentified man came to the madrassah at around 8am, kept a bag there which had explosives and left. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Taimur Jhagra has said that their sole focus right now is for the injured patients to be given the best possible care and so that they have the best chance to recover.
Last week, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) had issued a security alert saying there was credible information about possibility of subversive activities.
Last month, at least five people were killed and two injured in a blast in the Akbarpura area of Nowshera. The explosion occurred in a market situated along the Kabul River where some people were collecting scrap material from the stones alongside the river.
