Load shedding to prolong after KANUPP supply to KE suspended

The duration of load shedding is expected to prolong in some areas of the metropolis, after Karachi Nuclear Power Project (KANUPP) suspended the supply of 60 MW of electricity to K-Electric.
“Due to technical fault at KANUPP plant, power supply to parts of Karachi may be impacted due to resultant shortfall of 60MW,” informed KE spokesperson.
The spokesperson added that technical teams are working to fix the fault. “Load Management may be necessitated,” KE spokesperson added.
ILLEGAL CONNECTIONS REMOVED
K-Electric teams removed over 2,000 kilograms of internet and TV cables and hooked connections from power poles. The drive was carried out in parts of Ibrahim Hyderi, Sector 50/A, 32/A, Ilyas Goth and Usman Dawood Goth in Korangi and Landhi.
Furthermore, KE teams successfully removed over 500 illegal & hazardous streetlight switches in the areas of Hussain Chowrangi, Landhi and in some parts of Korangi. An illegal generator network powering hazardous hooks connections was also dismantled with the help of law enforcement agencies in Bismillah Market and Babar market. Similarly an underground cable network powering 12 cattle farms, which posed a safety threat to residents was also dismantled in Khurramabad.
