Pakistan overcome 90pc terrorism

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Science and Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said on Monday that Pakistan had overcome ninety percent terrorism in the country.

Talking to the media during his visit to Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) here, he said that Pakistan had the capability to shoot down drone, adding that it was ready to cooperate with the United States against terrorism.

He said that Pakistan had world class defence technology and acting upon the policy of self-reliance and eighty percent target in this regard had been achieved.

He said that Pakistan made jet fighters were quite equal to F-16. Rana Tanveer said the government was quite aware of any conspiracy against the motherland and would respond properly.

He said the government of Pakistan had made institutions stable and strong.

He further said that all recruitment in the different institutions of Science and Technology were made on merit.

He said that country was making fast progress in economic sector under the leadership of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Minister said that some disruptive elements were trying to destabilise the country by creating chaos.

He was of the views that economic restriction from USA would not affect national economy, country already had been tackled such problems in past.

He said the present government had made PCSIR a productive institution which was making progress and had the capacity to fulfil the industrial needs of national economy.

He said that overall condition of the country was far better than past as 1100 megawatt electricity had been produced during the present tenure of PML-N government, law and order situation in the country was also good.
