MQM-P leader demands exemplary punishment for extra-judicial killings

HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan's (MQM-P) Deputy Convener Kamran Tessori has demanded that if the act of extra-judicial killing is established in the case of Naqeebullah Mehsud than former SSP Malir Rao Anwar should be given an exemplary punishment.

Talking to media at Hyderabad press club on Sunday, Tissori said Anwar was an ordinary police officer whose status had been unnecessarily elevated.

"All of his illegal activities will be gradually known to the public soon," he expressed hope.

He appealed the people who were still supporting Anwar to consider that how would they react if one of their sons was killed in a fake encounter like Mehsud and others.   He said MQM-P was becoming politically stronger and would emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections with a sizable mandate. "We will break all previous records of successes," he asserted.

He said that MQM-P offices of Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas were reopened after a long period of 17 months since their closure in August, 2016.

Tissori said MQM-P was party of the common people and added that the party's members who gave sacrifices after the August, 2016, events would be preferred for the party tickets to contest the national and provincial seats in upcoming elections.

"MQM-P is a political party. Our doors are open for everyone including those who were defected from the party," he observed and invited the defectors to return to the party's fold.

He informed that a committee of elder politicians of MQM-P would be constituted soon in order to persuade such former leaders and members of his party.

The Deputy Convener complained that Karachi and Hyderabad were being ignored by the PPP's provincial government. "In Punjab there are airports in Lahore, Silakot and Faisalabad and other cities. But it is regrettable that the Hyderabad airport remains closed despite being near to 3 industrial zones and agricultural cities" he observed.

MQM-P's Hyderabad district Organizer MPA Rashid Khilji, joint organizer Rashid Mumtaz and other party leaders accompanied Tissori.
