KARACHI: A delegation of representatives of Pashtoon community called on Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair at the Governor House here and discussed progress in an investigation into the killing of Naqeebullah Mehsood in an police encounter some days back.
Former additional inspector general of police Rehmat Khan Mehsood led the delegation, said an official statement on Thursday.
The Governor assured that no one was above the law and the enquiry was being held impartially and in transparent manner.
That, the family of late Naqeeb would get justice.
The delegation also met Sindh Inspector General of Police, A.D.Khwaja and discussed the issue of Naqeeb's killing in the encounter.
They expressed their confidence over the investigation committee members and said their morale had risen after seeing that the investigation was going on impartially.
The IGP assured them that the investigation was being carried out impartially taking into account different angles of the incident.
He said that the police were making their best efforts to make the life and property of the citizens safe. Respect for the law of land was not only obligatory for the public but for the police.
Anyone found breaking the law or taking it into one's hands would be dealt with strictly.
