MNA Muhammad Jafar Khan Leghari on Saturday called upon the government to develop the hitherto backward areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. Talking to APP he said the Rodkohis (torrential rains) play havoc with the standing crops and the project estimated at Rs 570 million to solve this problem for good has yet to be executed.
He called for developing Maari as a tourist resort and improving facilities at the Fort Munroe, presently the sole hill resort of South Punjab. The Parliamentarian stressed that the tribal areas of this region should also be developed with adequate funds and backwardness of this area should be removed forthwith. He said some 1000 posts had been sanctioned for border military, set up in tribal areas of DG Khan and Rajanpur but the recruitment of locals has yet to be made.
