Major General Waheed Arshad, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) was installed as honorary colonel of the Regiment of Armoured Corps popularly known as "Al-Mughirat" at an impressive ceremony here on Monday.
Corps Commander Lahore, Lieut General Shafaat Ullah Shah was the chief guest on the occasion. He along with General Officer Commanding Major General Raheel Sharif pinned the badges of rank on the shoulders of the new honorary colonel and presented him the regimental beret.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the epic deeds of glory and dedication exhibited by the troops of "Al-Mughirat" it has earned the National Flag in 2006. General Shafaat Ullah Shah paid glowing tributes to the professional acumen of Major General Waheed Arshad.
He expressed the confidence that the regiment would touch new heights of professionalism under the able and matured guidance of its new colonel. He said that the courage and dedication demonstrated by the officers and jawans especially during the period of escalated tensions has earned the regiment a place of glory and pride in the Pakistan Army that has reposed full confidence in the professional performance and combat skill of the regiment.
