KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the removal of model Ayyan Alis name from the Exit Control List (ECL) on Thursday.
According o latest local media reports, the order was issued by the referee judge of SHC, Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto.
Ayyan will leave the country to meet her ailing mother, as soon as she gets a copy of the courts verdict, one of her lawyers, Qadir Khan Mandokhel, said while talking to the media at SHC.
It should be mentioned here that in the previous hearing, the models lawyer Latif Khosa said it is contempt of Supreme Court of Pakistan and an act of victimization to prevent her from going abroad.
Additional Attorney General Salman Talibud Din said Punjab government got her name included in ECL in murder case of customs inspector, adding the matter relates to Punjab; hence, Sindh court has no jurisdiction to hear the case.
Previously, senior member of the two-member bench formed for the case, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, had said the matter did not fall within the jurisdiction of SHC as her name was put in the ECL over the request of the Punjab government. According to another lawyer of the model, Lateef Khosa, an illegal proceeding was taking place against Ayyan.
