ISLAMABAD: Unlike most of the plain areas where farmers have reaped wheat crops, harvesting season is still on in some of the mountainous and hilly districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata.
Farmers in Parachinar say they prefer to start the harvesting season before their crops could be damaged by any seasonal changes or any other natural calamities, according to a report aired by a private news channel.
"It is our priority to reap the crops and start threshing as soon as possible as the holy month Ramzan of fasting has started and we want to be free for prayers and worship," an elderly farmer said.
It is a common practice in rural societies that people seek help from their friends, family members and relatives during harvesting season.
