ISLAMABAD: Economist Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said Friday that foreign investment in different development projects has strengthened the economy of Pakistan.
Talking to a private news channel he said the incumbent government is striving hard to eliminate corruption from all the development projects.
He said PML-N government has to some extend managed to provide relief to the people of the country. Inflation rate has also reduced.
"The economic indicators are showing positive trend as a result of prudent economic policies of the incumbent government. Government has achieved its target of GDP growth," he added.
Replying to a question he said foreign reserves have significantly increased as compared to past. Government has initiated a number of energy projects and vowed to eliminate load-shedding till 2018.
He pointed out the agriculture sector grew by 3.3% as against the target of 4.1% but it is satisfactory. The incumbent government is also giving top priority to improve the industrial sector in order to improve exports.
