KARACHI: All arrangements have been finalised for holding the 14th National and 2nd South Asian Association of National Scouts Organisation (Sanso) scouts Jamboree.
The event organised by the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association (PBSA) with the theme "Peace Through Scouting" will be held in Khairpur from December 16 - 23.
Over 6,000 scouts from nine branches of the PBSA, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA as well as PIA and Pakistan Railways, and girl scouts will be participating in the programme.
The scouts and girl guides from the eight member countries of the Sanso including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will also be participating in the event.
The scouts' delegations will start reaching the Jamboree site from December 13.
The PBSA has the honour of hosting Jamboree. Chief Scout Commissioner Abdul Karim Baloch will be Jamboree chief, provincial scout secretary Akhtar Mir Jamboree Secretary and Director Programme will be Zahid Mehboob. This scouting event will be held at seven acre land of Naaz Pilot School Khairpur. Twenty-eight committees for the Jamboree having 138 members and 200 rover scouts have been busy in the arrangements for the event.
