pepcoISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall continues to increase across the country and is currently 5,655 MW.

According to the spokesperson for PEPCO, electricity generation is 13,110 while demand is 18,765. Hydel generation is contributing 5,353 MW, thermal 5,363 MW and IPPs 6,089 MW to the national grid, private news channel reported.

In Hyderabad and parts of interior Sindh, 10-14 hours of loadshedding is taking place while in Jamshoro, business owners protested against unannounced loadshedding.

Eight-ten hours of loadshedding has become the norm in Karachi and technical faults are not being fixed for several days.

The spokesperson for the KESC said that the supply of furnace oil to the company has started.

In Multan and other areas of southern Punjab, residents are frustrated over the increasing hours of loadshedding.

Balochistan is facing 18 hours of loadshedding while in rural areas people are without electricity for 20 hours.
