Commissioner orders issuance of pre-removal show cause notices to absent teachers
NAWABSHAH: Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamal Mustafa Syed, has directed to issue show cause notices for removal from services instead of warning and explanations letters to the teachers found absent from their duty during drive against ghost teachers.
Addressing a meeting here on Friday he further directed that rules, legal formalities and complications must be considered while issuing show cause notices to absent teachers and no leniency should be given to such teachers.
The meeting was attended by district education officers and representatives of deputy commissioners and director schools of Noushehro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar.
Expressing his resentment on issuance of warning notices to the absent teacher by district education officer (DEO) Noushehro Feroz, Ghulam Rasool Kerio, he directed that showcase notices should be issued to absent teachers under Removal From Services Ordinance if a teacher was found absent either for a single day or for a longer period.
After the drive against absent teachers, some education officers had started approving long leaves of teachers, he pointed out, adding that this practice should be stopped at the earliest as any application without reference number and entries into inward and outward registers would be deemed unapproved and teachers status would be absent.
The Commissioner said that schools would be provided identical attendance registers with printed page numbers so that forgery in the registers could be prevented. For identification of ghost teachers lists were being prepared in consultation with accounts officer, he added.
